The Research and Applied AI Summit (RAAIS) is a community for entrepreneurs and researchers who accelerate the science and applications of AI technology. In the run up to our 9th annual event on June 13th 2025 in London, we’re running a series of speaker profiles to shed more light on what you can expect to learn on the day!
At RAAIS we have a focus on translating cutting edge technology and research into amazing products for real-world problems.
Chris is Director of Public Policy at Meta, where he oversees the company’s policy operations in Northern Europe. He speaks regularly about AI and the opportunities it presents for people, businesses and governments.
He is also a non-executive director at the Tony Blair Institute.
He previously led the global Technology and Public Policy team at the Tony Blair Institute, and before that was a General Manager at Uber. His career spans a range of public, private and third sector organisations including McKinsey & Co., HM Treasury, the Cabinet Office, Policy Exchange and SCVO.
With a career at the crossroads of technology and policy, Chris has been deeply involved in shaping conversations on AI governance, digital transformation, and platform regulation. His work spans from advising governments on AI strategy to navigating the complexities of public policy for some of the world’s most influential tech companies.
Whether discussing the ethical implications of machine learning, the future of work in an AI-driven economy, or the regulatory challenges facing big tech, Chris brings a unique perspective grounded in both research and real-world implementation.
