The Research and Applied AI Summit (RAAIS) brings together entrepreneurs and researchers who accelerate the science and applications of AI technology for the common good.

This flagship AI London event is presented by The RAAIS Foundation whereby all proceeds help to award research and project grants with a focus on communities that would otherwise not have a chance to participate in advancing AI.

Head of AI at Altos Labs

Thore is the Global Lead for Computational Sciences and AI at Altos Labs. The company seeks to investigate and understand cellular rejuvenation programming to restore cell health and resilience, with the goal of reversing disease to transform medicine. Thore is also a part-time position as Chair of Machine Learning at UCL in London and spent 7 years at Google DeepMind leading multi-agent research including contributing to the creation of AlphaGo.

JONATHAN STARCK

Chief Technology Officer at Synthesia

Jonathan is the Chief Technology Officer of Synthesia, a company pioneering the use of generative AI to create photo-real videos of people. Synthesia is trusted by leading global enterprises across training, customer service and marketing. Jonathan was previously the Head of Research at Foundry, whose software is used by every major feature film studio for visual effects and animation. He holds a PhD from Surrey in Multiple View Geometry.

Ashley edwards

Senior Research Scientist

Ashley is a senior research scientist working on reinforcement learning and foundational world models. She was part of the team at Google DeepMind that created Gato, a multi-modal, multi-embodiment agent able to perform a diverse range of tasks, ranging from captioning images through to playing Atari. More recently, Ashley worked on Genie, an unsupervised generative model trained on unlabelled Internet videos that can produce an endless variety of action-controllable virtual worlds.

VP of AI at Vercel

Jared leads the AI team at Vercel, the frontend cloud platform. Founded in 2015 by the creator of Next.js, Vercel allows developers to deploy and run the frontend of their web applications, separately from the backend. Vercel’s platform is used across the AI stack, including by Notion, Cohere, Perplexity, Runway, and Scale. Jared joined Vercel after it acquired Turnorepo, the company he founded in 2020.

CEO and Co-Founder of InstaDeep

Karim is the CEO and Co-Founder of InstaDeep, creating AI systems to optimize and automate decision-making processes across a range of industries. 

Founded in 2014, InstaDeep has partnered with a range of leading global enterprises ranging from Google, NVIDIA, and Intel through to Deutsche Bahn, Europe’s largest rail operator. The company was acquired by BioNTech in 2023 for approximately €500M.

Co-founder & CEO of Wayve

Alex is the co-founder and CEO of Wayve, a UK-based company developing foundation models for autonomous driving. Wayve’s AV2.0 approach focuses on creating a single neural network to convert raw sensor input into safe driving commands, removing the need for pre-mapped environments. This allows for greater adaptability to new scenarios and reducing the time and data required to deploy.

Simon Edwardsson

Co-Founder and CTO of V7

Simon is Co-Founder and CTO of V7, which builds a comprehensive training data engine for AI. The V7 offering includes automated labeling tools, models in the loop, and annotation services. 

The company recently expanded its offering with the launch of V7 Go, a software platform that uses multimodal models to automate a range of knowledge work tasks at scale.

President of Valence Labs

Daniel is the President of Valence Labs, the research engine committed to advancing the frontier of AI in drug discovery within Recursion Pharmaceuticals. He was previously the Co-Founder and CEO of Valence Discovery, which built an AI-powered platform for molecular design and optimization. Valence started at Mila, the Quebec AI Institute, under the guidance of Yoshua Bengio, and was acquired by Recursion Pharmaceuticals in 2023.
